63-Year-Old Greenpoint Woman Punched And Mugged: NYPD

A man knocked a Greenpoint woman to the ground Tuesday night in order to steal $40 she had in her purse, said police.

GREENPOINT, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for the man who punched a 63-year-old woman to the ground and stole her purse Tuesday evening.

The Greenpoint woman was about to walk into her home near Morgan Avenue and Sutton Street around 10:30 p.m. when she was attacked, said police.

The man punched her in the face and grabbed her purse — which held $40 and a cellphone — before running away, police said.

Medics took the woman to a nearby hospital where she was treated and released, said police.

Police released a photo of the suspect, whom they describe as a man wearing a black hooded jacket and dark sweatpants, on Wednesday.
