Affordable Housing Lottery: 16 Apartments On Former Williamsburg White Castle Site

There are four studios, four one-bedrooms and eight two-bedrooms available in the new building at 781 Metropolitan Ave.

EAST WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — The former site of a White Castle could be your new castle, and for an affordable price.

A new apartment building at 781 Metropolitan Ave. — where the mini-burger fast food chain White Castle once stood — is offering 16 subsidized apartments that are available by lottery and start at $867 per month.

The newly constructed apartments are only available to renters who meet specific income criteria:

  • Four $867 studio apartments are available to a single person who makes between $31,612 and $40,080 a year.
  • Four $931 one-bedroom apartments are available to:
    • One person who makes between $33,875 and $40,080 $33,875 a year
    • Two people who make between $33,875 and $45,840 a year
  • Eight $1,123 two-bedroom apartments are available to:
    • Two people who make between $40,492 and $45,840 a year
    • Three people who make between $40,492 and $51,540 a year
    • Four people who make between $40,492 and $57,240

The Adam America development building on the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Humboldt Street features luxury amenities — such as a gym, roof deck and washer/dryer room — and is just one block from the Graham Avenue L train station and four blocks from the Metropolitan Avenue G train station.

The deadline to submit an application is June 13 and more information about the affordable housing lottery can be found on the New York City Housing Connect website.
