WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — For the past two weeks, local cops have been searching for an on-the-loose motorist accoster and sunglass thief who allegedly struck in south Williamsburg on Aug. 19.

Around 1:40 p.m. that afternoon, according to the New York City Police Department (NYPD), a 22-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle, stopped at a red light at the intersection of Wythe Avenue and South 6th Street, near the Williamsburg bridge.

The victim told CBS New York that he honked at an unidentified woman on a bike to warn her she was about to pass a red light.

"From that second on, she went violent. She went crazy. She jumped off her bike. She starting cursing,” the man said in an interview with CBS. “Literally, I’ve never in my life heard a person curse like that for like five minutes.”

In an unusual twist of events, the woman approached the victim, struck the man's face and then took his sunglasses, police said.

She has long black hair and was last seen wearing a sleeveless red T-shirt, black shorts, eyeglasses and a black baseball cap. She was carrying a black purse and was riding a black and green bicycle, police said.

Photos and video were captured of the suspect by a camera installed on his vehicle's dashboard, and have since been released to the media by police.
