Off-Duty Cop Arrested For Assault In Greenpoint, Police Say
NYPD officer Emel Lyndl Alegre was off duty when he was arrested in the 94th precinct early Friday morning, said police.

GREENPOINT BROOKLYN — A police officer whipped out a knife during a road rage fight that started in Queens, crossed into Brooklyn and ended in handcuffs, said the NYPD.
Emel Lyndl Alegre, 34, was arrested while off duty in the 94th precinct — which covers Greenpoint and parts of Williamsburg — Friday morning at about 2 a.m., police said.
Alegre allegedly took out his knife during an argument with another driver in Long Island City, NBC New York reported.

The police officer was arrested and charged with assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, said police.
