Ferry Service Canceled In Williamsburg And Greenpoint
The South Williamsburg and Greenpoint landings have been closed for repairs, according to NYC Ferry officials.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Ferry service in Williamsburg and Greenpoint was abruptly canceled on Wednesday “until further notice.”
Ferry service to the South Williamsburg terminal on South Ninth Street and Greenpoint terminal on India Street was suspended so that NYC Ferry workers could complete necessary maintenance to the landings, according to the company’s website.
Free shuttle buses will take South Williamsburg passengers to the North Williamsburg landing and Greenpoint riders to Hunters Point South where they can catch their morning boat ride.

The repairs are expected to keep the South Williamsburg landing closed through the weekend, but ferry officials said service is expected to resume at the Greenpoint landing by rush hour Thursday evening.
NYC Ferry first announced the disruption of service on Twitter, where several boat commuters expressed their dismay.

These repairs come less than one month after the city announced it will spend $300 million more on the NYC Ferry service to buy 350-passenger boats and to fix piers and docks.
