Greenpoint Ganja House Bust: Owners Of $2.5M In Drugs Sentenced

Philip Feng and Victor Bae stored 500 pounds of marijuana, other drugs and $150,000 in cash in a Greenpoint warehouse, prosecutors said.

GREENPOINT, BROOKLYN — Two men who stocked a Greenpoint warehouse full of hallucinogens, steroids, marijuana and more than $150,000 in cash were sentenced in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Friday, prosecutors said.

Philip Feng, 37, and Victor Bae, 36, were arrested on March 9, 2016, when police officers, tipped off by Homeland Security agents, spotted the duo loading boxes of marijuana into a U-Haul truck at Maspeth Avenue distribution center, according to a statement from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office.

Feng and Bae, whom police said made about $10 million dealing drugs, drove away in the U-Haul truck but were soon stopped by the officers, who soon discovered Feng had been driving with a suspended license, prosecutors said.

Feng told officers he and Bae were moving personal belongings to a warehouse at 234 Java St., but police searched the truck and found 350 pounds of marijuana instead, prosecutors said.

The officers then decided to search the warehouse, where they found 150 pounds of marijuana, hundreds of vials of steroids, 188 grams of mushrooms, 200 vials of liquid THC, PCP, LSD, ecstasy, methylone (or bath salts), liquid codeine, marijuana edibles, a .22 caliber revolver, and $152,736 in cash, prosecutors said.

Police estimated at the time the drugs were worth about $2.5 million in total.

Feng pleaded guilty in June to criminal possession of a controlled substance, firearm and marijuana and was sentenced Friday to five years in prison, prosecutors said.

Bae pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance and marijuana and was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison, said prosecutors.
