Hit-And-Run Driver Kills Man In Williamsburg, Police Say

A 50-year-old man was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Metropolitan Avenue in East Williamsburg Monday morning, police said.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — A man was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Williamsburg Monday morning, according to police.

The 50-year-old man was jaywalking near Metropolitan and Varick avenues when he was hit by a dark colored SUV before 3:45 a.m., police said.

The SUV driver sped away, heading west on Metropolitan Avenue, and left the man lying injured in the street, sad police.

Emergency responders rushed the unconscious man — whose head and body were wounded — to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead, said police.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
