Mace Attack On L Train Spurred By Coughing, Police Say
A woman sprayed a 45-year-old man with Mace and jumped on his back after his coughing enraged her, police said.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — A woman sprayed a fellow L train passenger with Mace and jumped on his back because she didn’t like the way he coughed, according to the police.
The 45-year-old victim was waiting at the First Avenue L Station for a Brooklyn-bound train around 3:30 a.m. when his coughing disturbed the woman next to him, police said.
The man tried to escape the enraged woman when an L train arrived, but she followed him onto the car and attacked as the train approached the Bedford Avenue station, said police.

The woman sprayed Mace at the back of his neck, jumped on top of him and hit him repeatedly, according to police
The man’s attacker fled at the Bedford Avenue stop, where emergency responders treated him for injuries to his neck, eyes and left knee, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a woman with brown eyes and black hair who is about 30-years-old, five-foot-six and weighs about 160 pounds.
She was last seen wearing a black jacket, black-and-white jeans, black boots and carrying an umbrella, police said.
