Man Attempts To Rape Woman In Williamsburg On New Year's Day
The man punched the woman in the back of her head in the first floor landing of an apartment building, police said.
WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for a man who attempted to rape a woman inside an apartment building early New Year's morning.
The man approached the 26-year-old woman in the first floor landing of the apartment building, which is near South 2nd Street and Havemeyer Street. He punched her in the back of the head, got on top of her and tried to pull down her underwear, police said.
The woman resisted and the man fled down South 2nd Street.

He is described as a white man in his mid-20s, about 5' 8" with facial hair.
