One Of Jewish Cult's Top Leaders Arrested In Williamsburg: Report
The man faces kidnapping charges connected with a family who tried to flee the extremist group in Guatemala.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — A man connected to Lev Tahor, an extreme Jewish "cult," was arrested early Sunday morning in Williamsburg, Yeshiva World News reports. He is wanted for his role in kidnapping of two siblings who fled the group in Guatemala.
Aron Yeshaya Rosner was arrested around 1 a.m. by the FBI and state police and is the brother of Meyer Rosner, one of five Lev Tahor leaders arrested last week in Mexico, YWN reported.
A source close to Rosner told the New York Post that Aron Rosner is an ambassador in the U.S. for Lev Tahor, which operated out of Canada and then Guatemala.

He is charged with kidnapping in connection with a 14-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy who went missing earlier this month. YWN reported that the siblings were part of a family that recently escaped Lev Tahor in Guatemala.
Lev Tahor was founded in the 1980s by Shlomo Helbrans, who died in 2017. Helbrans was convicted of kidnapping twice in the 1990s and settled in Canada when he was released from jail, YWN reported.

The group then operated out of Quebec for a decade before leaving for Guatemala.
The five suspects arrested last week are in custody and in the process of being brought to the United States on charges including kidnapping, sexual abuse, running a cult, extortion, intimidation and child abuse, YWN said.
