Teen Beaten With Bottle By Man Asking About Gangs, Cops Say

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN -- A hooded man beat two young men with a glass bottle after asking if they belonging to a gang, according to police.

Surveillance footage released Thursday shows a group of men attacking the 21-year-old and 16-year-old near the corner of Keap Street and Broadway on July 31 at about 11:15 p.m., said police.

The beating began after one of the men, clad in a black hoodie and red shorts, demanded to know if the pair belonged to a gang then swung his glass bottle at their heads, police said.

As the hooded man continued to swing his bottle, his friends punched and kicked his two targets before running away, said police.

Emergency responders took the injured pair to Woodhull Hospital, where they were treated for cuts on their heads, according to police.

Police are now looking for the man with the bottle, whom they describe as being in his early 20s and standing about 5-foot 9-inches.
