Williamsburg Man Found Dead With Belt Around His Neck, Police Say

EAST WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN -- An East Williamsburg man was found dead in his bedroom with a belt around his neck, according to police and reports.

Emergency responders found Peter Barnes, 27, lying on the floor of his bedroom on Johnson and Stewart avenues at about 8:25 p.m., police said.

A roommate called 911 when he found a belt cinched around Barnes' neck, police sources told the Daily News.

Barnes was pronounced dead in the apartment and the Medical Examiner's office has yet to determine the cause of death, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Monday morning.
