Williamsburg Man Slams 6-Year-Old Son's Head Into Metal Table For Not Finishing Breakfast: Report

Michael O'Brien was furious that his small son wouldn't clean his plate, the Daily News reported.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn man who slammed his six-year-old son’s head into a metal table when the boy refused to eat his breakfast has been arrested, according to reports and court records.

Michael O’Brien, 37, became enraged while sitting with his son at the kitchen table in his home on Ainslie Street in Williamsburg on April 17, 2016, the Daily News reported.

O’Brien slammed the boy against the table with enough strength to cut a deep gash in his son’s head, according to the Daily News.

Police charged O’Brien with acting in a manner injurious to a child and assault, among other charges, after the boy’s mother reported him on Thursday, according to court records and the Daily News.

O’Brien also stands accused of unlawfully imprisoning his son for 20 minutes after pushing him into a bench in September and violating a Nassau County family court order of protection, according to court records and the Daily News.
