Would-Be Rapist Fought Off By Woman In Williamsburg, Cops Say
A woman fought off the man who followed her into a Williamsburg apartment building and assaulted her Monday morning, police said.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN -- Police are looking for the man who tried to rape a woman in Williamsburg on Monday.
The suspect followed a 42-year-old woman into an apartment building near Berry and South 10th streets at about 7:45 a.m., police said.
He grabbed the woman from behind, put his hand over her mouth and then tried to sexually assault her, said police.

But the woman fought him off and sent him running out of the building, down South 10th Street and toward Broadway, police said.
The woman was not injured during the struggle, police said.

Police are now looking for a man who stands about 5-feet 9-inches, weighs about 165 pounds and was last seen wearing jeans, black sneakers, a baseball cap and a shoulder bag.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police.
