Windsor Terrace Safety Upgrades: One-Way Seeley Street, Speed Hump on Prospect Avenue
Windsor Terrace residents are invited to the Community Board 7 Transportation Committee Meeting Nov. 14.

WINDSOR TERRACE, NY —Windsor Terrace residents are invited to observe the Community Board 7 Transportation Committee Meeting 6:30-7:30 p.m., Nov. 14. The committee will discuss the proposal to turn Seeley Street into a one-way street, and the possibility of a speed hump for Prospect Avenue, between 8th Avenue and Prospect Park West.
NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) is working to improve traffic safety in the Kensington and Windsor Terrace area. On May 18, 2016, a ceremonial ribbon-cutting took place for the new traffic signal installed on the corner of Caton Avenue and E. 8th Street in Kensington. This is a block away from where 14-year-old Mohammad Naiem Uddin was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Nov. 2014.
NYC DOT will discuss the conversion of Seeley Street into a one-way street as part of these recent safety changes.

“We’ve still got a long way to go toward a ‘Vision Zero’ NYC — where no one is killed or seriously injured in traffic crashes — but, by working together, we are making some very good progress," City Councilman Brad Lander said in a 2015 blog post.
The meeting will be held at P.S. 154 at 1625 11th Avenue, between Windsor Place and Sherman Street, Windsor Terrace.
