15-Year-Old Killed In Domestic Violence Shooting ID'd By Authorities

The teen was a sophomore at Somers High School. His 13-year-old brother and his mother remain hospitalized in critical condition.

SOMERS, NY — Police have identified the victims in a deadly domestic violence shooting in Westchester County. Meanwhile, the accused gunman remains in jail.

The teenage victim who was killed has been identified as 15-year-old Michael Raimondi.

The surviving victims are 38-year-old Christine Raimondi, and a 13-year-old, who are both in critical condition after being shot late Monday night, according to state police.

According to the Somers Central School District, Michael Raimondi was a tenth grader at Somers High School, while his younger brother, Matthew, is an 8th grader at Somers Middle School.

40-year-old Fernando Jimenez was arraigned on Tuesday before the Town of Somers Court and charged with felony second degree murder, two counts of felony second degree attempted murder, and felony second degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail, and is scheduled to appear in court on November 4.

New York State Police announced early Tuesday morning that they were investigating a shooting that had taken place in the Town of Somers around 11:35 p.m. on Monday. One victim died, while two victims were taken to local hospitals, according to that initial report.

The suspect, Jimenez, who was described as familiar with the victims by police, was last known to be in the Peekskill Hollow Road area in Putnam Valley.

A massive manhunt for the armed suspect in Westchester and Putnam counties took place early Tuesday, with residents staying in place and several area school districts either closing or implementing lockout procedures.

State police investigators requested members of the public to check their trail or home security cameras for possible sightings and contact authorities with any information.

New York State Police announced late Tuesday morning that Jimenez had been apprehended and was in state police custody.

Somers Town Supervisor Robert Scorrano announced the Town of Somers will be holding a community vigil for the Raimondi family on Saturday, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in Reis Park, located at 82 Primrose St. in Katonah.

"In response to the recent tragedy, we are reminded of the profound impact that domestic violence has on individuals, families, and our entire community," Scorrano said in a statement released on Wednesday. "This critical issue often goes unseen and unspoken, yet it affects countless lives. For those affected, please know that help is available."

The Town Supervisor said the town has been collaborating with the Somers Central School District to provide information and resources to residents.

"I have included details about local services, including confidential support, shelters, advocacy, counseling, therapy, and legal services," Scorrano said. "Additionally, the local and state police departments and emergency responders are trained to assist anyone in immediate danger. We encourage anyone affected by domestic violence — whether directly or indirectly — to seek support and remember that they are not alone. Together, we can create a safer and more supportive community for everyone."
