16-Year-Old Forced Open Mom's Bedroom Door, Stole Her Car: Yorktown PD
The teen was charged as a juvenile delinquent for criminal mischief, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and being an unlicensed operator.

YORKTOWN, NY — Police say a teenager went about borrowing the family car the wrong way.
Yorktown police say they arrested a 16-year old Yorktown resident and charged him as a juvenile delinquent for misdemeanor fourth degree criminal mischief, misdemeanor third degree unauthorized use of a vehicle, and a traffic infarction of unlicensed operator.
On October 10, around 2 p.m., the Yorktown Police Department received a report of a domestic incident between a mother and her son.

Officers who arrived on the scene were told by the mother that her son forced her locked bedroom door open, causing damage to the door frame, and then left in her vehicle, driving it without her permission and without a license.
After officers confirmed that the son was unlicensed, he and the vehicle were found shortly after. The teen was arrested and taken to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for processing.

He was issued a juvenile appearance ticket along with a traffic ticket, and released to a parent. The teen was due to appear in the Westchester County Department of Probation on Thursday afternoon.
