25 Days Of Holiday Volunteering — Day 6: Holiday Shopping

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — 'Tis the season for giving back to your community. There are a number of ways that you and your family can help out through the holidays and help others.

Every day through Christmas, Patch will be highlighting a way you can provide compassion and resources to those in need.

Volunteer New York! makes it easy to find ways to help — through donations, supporting nonprofits and even volunteering from home.

Today's opportunity will benefit Volunteer New York! and Feeding Westchester. Every year, Two's Company — a wholesale gift and home decor store — has a winter shopping event where a portion of the proceeds goes to benefit a local nonprofit organization. For 2021, Volunteer New York! and Feeding Westchester were chosen. Volunteers are needed to assist customers during the sale, represent Volunteer New York!'s outreach table and help carry customers' totes of goodies to the cashier. Volunteers are needed in Elmsford from Wednesday, Dec. 8 through Saturday, Dec. 11. One of the perks of helping out is, after your shift is over, being able to shop the sale and buy fashion accessories, gifts and more at deeply discounted prices.
