Augie’s Prime Cut Restaurant Opens Loft to Accommodate More Customers

The restaurant has added on an entire floor with a separate bar and dining room.

has opened an upstairs loft – Augie’s Loft – by adding on an entire floor with a separate bar and dining room, ideal for VIP dining, private parties, special occasion, corporate functions, and charitable events.

Established in 2009, Augie's Prime Cut is a steak and seafood establishment, located on Lexington Avenue near the intersection of Route 6 in Mohegan Lake. It is owned by Cortlandt Manor resident Audrey Hochroth and her husband Sal Barone.

In January, the Yorktown planning board reviewed their amended site plan that was required to legalize the conversion of the building's existing second floor into dinning space.

The restaurant received its certificate of occupancy from the planning board two weeks ago, after working on the project for about a year.

"We did it because we were turning away a lot of people on Fridays and Saturdays," Hochroth said and added the additional space would allow them to accommodate more customers.

The upstairs loft would seat 65 people, and the downstairs space seats between 70 and 80 people.

"The atmosphere is a little more quiet upstairs, more romantic, more private," Hochroth said.

The loft has earthy and mustard tones, wood paneling on the floor and steps that directly lead to the parking lot outside. The room is separated in the middle by a wall to distinguish between the bar, which seats four people, and the main dining room.

If a non-profit organization holds its event at the loft, Hochroth said, a portion of the proceeds would go toward the charitable organization.

Augie's has had a strong connection to the community and are involved in charitable events. Last year, they held their first annual golf outing to raise money for Autism Speaks and . . Her daughter Niki was diagnosed with autism after getting encephalitis, an acute inflammation of the brain, at the age of 6.

Hochroth and Barone have been involved in Autism Speaks charitable walks and various other fundraising events for autism throughout the years. This year, they're involved in the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital "Go the Distance" walk on April 22.

To make reservations for the loft, there is no additional charge. For more information, call 914-743-1357 or fill out their inquiry form. The restaurant also offers free valet parking Thursday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
