Bronx Man Accused Of Driving After License Suspended 13 Times

Police said he had failed to answer summonses and pay child support.

YORKTOWN, NY — Police arrested a Bronx man after he was accused of driving with a suspended license. Yorktown police charged Eric Burgos, 47, of the Bronx, with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and no/inadequate brake/stop lamps, fail to obey traffic control device and unlicensed operation, traffic infractions.

Police said, around 1:20 a.m. March 28, an officer on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop on Crompond Road (Route 202).

The officer said Burgos failed to obey a traffic control device and was operating his car without adequate brake lights.

A check of the New York Statewide Police Information Network database found that Burgos was driving while his privilege to do so was suspended 13 times for failing to answer summonses and for failing to pay child support.

Police also said he not have a driver's license.

Burgos was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.

He was released on his own recognizance and turned over to the Westchester County Police for an active arrest warrant issued by the Cortlandt Town Court.

Burgos is due back in Yorktown Justice Court May 2.
