The Yorktown Lions have unofficially named the town "Swiftown" for August 9. Get ready for the "Kanin Wren's Taylor Swift Experience," which actually starts at 6:00 PM, but is preceded by events that begin at 4:00 PM.The SPCA adoption truck - filled with dogs needing a home - will be on the field from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Be ready to adopt that dog that you have been dreaming &nbsp;about. Also, food trucks and merchandise vendors will be setting up early. Come early to the concert, and you can adopt, shop, and eat before the main event at 6:00 PM.Also, there will be a "Swiftie Costume Contest" with prizes awarded during the concert's intermission. Wear your favorite Taylor Swift themed costume, outfit, or t-shirt. This occasion marks the first ever Yorktown Lions' Swifie costume party. Sign up on line for $5 and become part of the fun.The photos you may see with this article are from the "Radio Flashback" concert on July 26. The remaining two free Yorktown Lions' concerts will feature "Jessica Lynn" on August 16 &nbsp;at 6:00 PM and "Tramps Like Us" on August 23 - beginning at 5:00 PM.&nbsp;

We can never be too cautious on this web, where emails, phone calls, text messages, facebook posts, and more, can be fraudulent. It can be used to get private information from us.&nbsp;
Join us in this presentation about online scams, spam, and junk. Learn to spot fraudulent texts, and identify fake email accounts. Come to understand the intent behind ads and social media posts. Keep yourself safe online and have a backup plan in case you accidentally lose personal information. Learn how to use the internet safely and to your advantage in weeding out the liars and thieves of the internet and explore safely and freely!

Westchester Children's Museum Family STEAM Fair Saturday, August 15 at 12 - 2 PM

The Westchester Children's Museum is returning to present another family STEAM fair, a Table-Top Family event where they will bring some of their most popular STEAM activities for families to enjoy and learn from together. This event will have multiple activities set up around the room at the same time, allowing participants to go around and experience them all at their own pace. Come and finish off the summer with some STEAM fun!

The Westchester Children's Museum is...

The event takes place on Saturday, August 15, at 7:30 p.m. inside the historic First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown, located at 2880 Crompond Road (Route 202).
The evening will feature original compositions created and performed by musicians Carla Lynne Hall and Jim Keyes. Their music draws direct inspiration from local Revolutionary War heritage, offering attendees a unique auditory experience inside one of Yorktown’s authentic historic landmarks.
The performance is presented in connection with the Town of Yorktown, the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail (W3R-US), and the America 250 initiative, honoring the nation’s ongoing semiquincentennial commemorations.
Admission to the concert is free. Attendees arriving by car are advised to enter the church’s paved parking lot via Route 132.
