Cops: 70-Year-Old With No License Drove Unregistered Car
Police also allege they found Oxycontin in the Garrison resident's possession.
YORKTOWN, NY — A 70-year-old Garrison resident faces a slew of charges in Yorktown after being stopped Thursday afternoon in Yorktown.
A police officer said he noticed a car with problem brake lights at 6:30 p.m. on East Main Street.
After he stopped the car and asked for license and registration, he found the driver was operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended. The car was unregistered and uninsured. The license plates on the car belonged to a different vehicle.

One thing the driver, Victor Tonndorf, did have in his possession was Oxycontin, police alleged.
After further investigation police alleged that Tonndorf, in that car, had left the scene of a property-damage car crash on Oct. 2.

Tonndorf was arrested and charged with first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony; seventh degree possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and uninsured, unregistered vehicle with no/insufficient tail lights, all infractions.
At Yorktown police headquarters he was issued traffic tickets for the infractions and an appearance ticket for the misdemeanor and felony charges.
He was released without bail and is due in town court Nov. 2.
