St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s Principal, Sister Gabriel Miriam Obraz, and the Sisters of Charity were Celebrated by Students and Honored during Special Luncheon Beloved Principal, Retiring after 51 Years, Celebrated for Her Decades of Service and Dedication [May 24, 2017] Students at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton elementary school recently came together to celebrate and perform for their principal, Sister Gabriel Miriam Obraz, SC — who is retiring after 51 years — during a special luncheon as part of the annual May Crowning ceremony on May 19 at the school in Shrub Oak, NY. During the event, the Sisters of Charity were also honored for their 200 years of service in the Archdiocese of New York. Seventy-five Sisters of Charity attended the event, which was preceded by a Mass. About St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School opened its doors on September 12, 1966 as part of the newly formed parish (1963) of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and staffed by the Sisters of Charity of New York and Catholic lay faculty. The school strives to provide for the education of the whole child.
