Driver Found Unconscious In Car, Partially In A Driveway: Police
The Cortlandt Manor man had a BAC of 0.18 percent, a prior DWI, was unlicensed, had no interlock device and an open container, cops said.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Westchester driver managed to get himself arrested on several charges while he slept, according to police.
The Yorktown Police Department says that a 29-year-old Cortlandt Manor resident was arrested and charged with a slew of felonies, including driving while intoxicated with one prior conviction, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a BAC of 0.18 percent or more, and first degree aggravated unlicensed operation. In addition, he was charged with misdemeanor operating a vehicle without an interlock device installed, possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and several other traffic infractions.
On Sunday, around 1:28 p.m., Yorktown police received a report of an unconscious person inside a vehicle that was stopped partially in the driveway of a home.

After an officer responded to the scene and investigated, he found that Jorge Andrade Piedra was operating a vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol, while his privilege to operate a vehicle was revoked, had an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, along with several other traffic infractions.
Piedra was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. It was determined at the station that he had a BAC of 0.18 percent or more.

Piedra was issued an appearance ticket and traffic tickets, and released on his own recognizance to a responsible party. He is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on November 7.
