Drivers Arrested In Two Separate Incidents: Yorktown Police
One faces charges for driving while intoxicated; the other for driving an unregistered car with a suspended license.
YORKTOWN, NY — Yorktown police report two drivers arrested over the weekend face assorted charges.
A 20-year-old Bronx resident was stopped on Crompond Road at 7:40 p.m. Saturday for driving outside his designated lane. Police allege the car was unregistered, plus the driver's license had been suspended in New York for failure to answer a summons and failure to pay a fine. Gai Assan is due in Yorktown town court Oct. 8.
A 35-year-old Mahopac man was arrested at 3 a.m. Sunday. Police allege that an officer on East Main Street saw a car traveling eastbound that didn't have a license plate lamp. He stopped the car and concluded the driver was intoxicated. Norman R. Reid was released to a responsible party and is due in Yorktown town court Oct. 8.
