The sun was out and shining for most of Sunday, and the crowds were happy with lots of events happening all day. The livestock area was particularly busy with demonstrations and judging on the final day. Cows, goats and horses each had showmanship presentations with their handlers for the fair. The livestock animal parade in the horsering was the final event of a long, fun weekend.
Audience participation events drew large crowds on Sunday with both kids and adults competing in pie eating, watermelon eating, and balloon blowing in front of the main stage, and even rubber chicken throwing in the horsering.
Live music on the main stage featured two sets by Lori & Mike Barr. This was the second year the Yorktown couple have graced the Grange Fair stage and with good reason. Their easy good humor combined with Lori’s delightful voice and Mike’s crisp acoustic guitar had the appreciative audience tapping and swaying. A couple of notable songs: Lori’s gorgeous vocal really nailed “I Will Always Love You” by The Cure, and Mike’s self-penned ode to BBQ Chicken left us hungry for more.

Local favorites, The Bob Martinson Band also played two sets later in the afternoon, and their genre spanning cover medleys had the audience dancing both the electric slide and the twist.
And as the day came to a close, the traditional final event of each Grange Fair – the produce auction – drew an enthusiastic crowd in the 4H building, with all proceeds going to local charities.
