Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah) at Temple Beth Shalom, Mahopac

This year’s observance of Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah) will be held in Mahopac at Temple Beth Shalom on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at 4:00 PM. A memorial service will commemorate the six million plus Jews who died in the Holocaust.
“The memorial service will consist of two parts,” said Bernice Guest, a Temple Beth Shalom member and second-generation survivor of the holocaust. “First we are going to light candles as a memorial, and second we will show the film The Wave and discuss how young people were recruited by the Nazis. The discussion will connect the theme to contemporary issues.”
We welcome and encourage all members of the community to come and participate in this event. Refreshments will be served.
