Hudson Valley Hospital Center Cardiologist Runs NYC Marathon
Dr. Glenn Hamroff raises money for AHA in honor of dad
Cortlandt Manor, NY (Oct. 31, 2014) – Being a cardiologist would be reason enough for Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s Dr. Glenn Hamroff to run the New York City Marathon this Sunday to raise money for the American Health Association.
But Hamroff has a, deeper more personal reason to run: the memory of his father.
“In 2007, my father, Joel, suddenly lost his battle with heart disease. He had lost his brother, Sheldon, some 20 years before in the same manner,’’ said Hamroff. “This year, I will be joining my brother Marc, and our cousin Michael to run the NYC Marathon in their honor.”

Hamroff, a member of the NYU Langone Hudson Valley Cardiology group, has been competing in tri-athalons since 2007, but this is only the second time that he has run the NYC Marathon. In his last run in 2009, he had a time of 03:42, a time he hopes to best this year. By how much? He’s not prepared to say. The important thing he said will be raising money to fight heart disease.
So far, he and his brother and cousin have raised $20,000 for the American Heart Association. Anyone who wants to support Dr. Hamroff and the AHA, can do so by visiting his personal fundraising page.
