Hudson Valley's Jobless Rate Down over 2016

The Hudson Valley still outpaces the state. Find or post local opportunities on Yorktown-Somers Patch.

YORKTOWN, NY — The Hudson Valley started 2016 with a 4.5 percent unemployment rate, according to the state Labor Department. As of November, regional unemployment in the HV was down to 4 percent.

That compares favorably to the state’s unemployment rate, which stood at 5.1 percent in November 2016, labor officials said.

Across the Hudson Valley, most counties showed even stronger numbers; even Greene and Sullivan counties had lower jobless rates than the state average.
