'I Love My Park Day' Set For Saturday
The governor said it's a great opportunity to give back to the state's parks and historic sites so others can continue to enjoy them.

Do you have a state park that you love? Then "I Love My Park Day" is something in which you should consider participating. More than 135 state parks, historic sites and public lands around New York will be hosting the event Saturday, May 4.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said it's a great opportunity to give back to the state's parks and historic sites so others can continue to enjoy them.
"I encourage New Yorkers to sign up and volunteer at a participating park or historic site in their area to help us protect and preserve our incredible parks system for generations to come," he said.

Volunteers will celebrate New York's public lands by cleaning up debris, planting trees and gardens, restoring trails and wildlife habitats, removing invasive species and working on various site improvement projects, according to a spokesperson. Members of the New York State Excelsior Conservation Corps, a New York State AmeriCorps program run by the Student Conservation Association, will help State Parks organize and implement I Love My Park Day projects.
