Leisure, Hospitality Jobs Grow in NY over Past Year: New Report

Private sector jobs increased in April 2016 in New York State, according to information just released.

The Department of Labor said the number of jobs increased by 13,300—or 0.2 percent—to 7,905,500.

State labor officials called that a new record high.

As usual, educational and health services was the top category, increasing from April 2015 to April 2016 by 42,500.

But in a change, the next highest job category in the number of new private sector jobs over the last year was leisure and hospitality, with 16,000 new jobs created.
