Letter to the Editor: No on Yorktown Highway Garage
The writer, Yorktown town Councilman Vishnu Patel, also sent this to residents as an email blast. He is running for town supervisor.

Dear Neighbor,
Why should Yorktown spend money on a new highway garage when we need critical repairs to our roads, drainage, bridges and town buildings? They said two years ago that a new garage would cost $400,000.
Now, the cost has ballooned to $4,800,000. Meanwhile, our Highway Superintendent says: “I am more than capable of operating out of our current highway garage.”
Supervisor Grace has not held even one community-wide meeting where taxpayers could ask questions. He says that the present garage site will become part of a beautiful new “downtown.”
What could be more foolish than building new offices across from an auto body shop close to parked garbage trucks and a school bus lot? Let’s renew what we have now before building more.
More than 2,000 Yorktown residents have already signed a petition in person and online to prevent this expensive mistake! Please sign the United Taxpayers of Yorktown online petition: Click on Change.org and type “yorktown” in the search box.
Join the taxpayers’ revolt. You can make a difference.
Regards,
Vishnu
