Local Nonprofits to Benefit from Massive 'Give Local America' Event May 5
Somers and Yorktown charities and businesses can be part of Give Local Westchester and Putnam.
Give Local Westchester & Putnam is an online giving event designed to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits in just 24 hours.
This year it will be held noon to noon May 5-6, celebrating the spirit of giving and the collective effort it takes to strengthen our communities by raising critical funds for local nonprofits.
Give Local Westchester & Putnam is part of the largest online giving event in history, as more than 100 regions across the country join up with Give Local America to raise millions of dollars for the greater good – all on a single day.

Last year’s Give Local America raised more than $53 million nationally.
In our region, the effort is being powered by United Way of Westchester and Putnam.

All nonprofits in good standing can register by April 10 in order to receive donations through Give Local. Registration is free. Rules, prize listings, and third party processing fees can be found atwww.givelocalwp.org.
Local businesses can join in this community-wide event by becoming sponsors, donating prizes, or promoting the day to employees.
Donors will be randomly selected throughout the 24 hours to receive prizes which will keep things fast-paced and exciting!
Businesses can adopt an hour, a cause, or align their business with a county. Basic sponsorship packages can be found at www.givelocalwp.org and range from $250-$6,000.

Give Local Westchester & Putnam will make every hour of May 5-6 (noon to noon) meaningful by providing this unique opportunity for our community to raise significant funds that will make a direct, positive impact on the lives of our neediest residents.
Residents can check www.givelocalwp.org to make sure their favorite charities are listed. Additions can be made up until April 10.
