Currently, more than eight million women are estimated to have a substance use disorder in our country and the majority of them get addicted when they are in their mid-teens to early twenties. Linda Dahl wrote Loving Our Addicted Daughters Back to Life out of her experience as the mother of a then-teenaged daughter who experimented with marijuana and pills and then became a heroin addict. Her daughter is now in recovery and leading a productive life.
