Mahopac Man Stole Power Grid Wires From Somers Contractor: NYSP

The 38-year-old is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in power cables and materials from a worksite in Westchester County.

SOMERS, NY — Troopers say that a Mahopac man used a site where crews were working to improve the power grid as an opportunity make off with valuable construction materials.

The New York State Police announced on Monday that troopers from the Somers barracks arrested a man earlier this month for the theft of power grid material.

On August 9, troopers arrested Michael Dziedzic for two counts of felony third degree grand larceny and misdemeanor fourth degree criminal mischief.

Investigators said the 38-year-old stole wire and construction material valued at over $3,000 on several occasions from a contractor company working for NYSEG in the Somers area, beginning in May of this year.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Somers Court.
