Man Accused Of Drunken Driving, Leaving Accident Scene
Police said they received a report of someone driving erratically and who crashed through a gas station fence.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of drunken driving after leaving the scene of an accident Monday.
The Yorktown Police Department said Edwin Colon, 61, of Yorktown, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated BAC 0.18 percent or more, first offense, and driving while intoxicated, first offense, misdemeanors, and three traffic infractions, including leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident.
Police said they received a report of someone driving erratically who had gone through a fence at the BJ's gas station and then fled the scene.

The car was reportedly traveling east on Route 202 and then north on Route 132, police said.
Officers spotted the car on Route 132, in the area of Salem Road, where it had crashed off the road into an earth embankment.

Colon was identified as the driver of the car, police said.
Authorities said he was intoxicated and had not only left the scene of the accident earlier but also failed to stay in his lane.
Colon was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.
Police said his blood alcohol content was 0.18 percent or more.
Colon was issued traffic tickets for the charges and released to a responsible adult.
He is next scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Jan. 13.
