Police said they initially stopped the man for a traffic violation.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Bedford Hills man was accused in Yorktown of driving without a valid license but with a broken windshield. Yorktown police said Danny R. Frederick, 59, of Bedford Hills, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and broken/fractured windshield, a traffic infraction.

Police said, around 2:15 a.m. May 1, an officer on patrol on Route 6 said he saw a vehicle with a broken or fractured windshield and a traffic stop was initiated in the parking lot of the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Frederick was identified as the driver, but a computer check at the scene revealed that his driving privilege in the state of New York was suspended on multiple dates for failure to pay a fine and answer a summons, police said.
