“Mike is joining at a time when Friends of Karen is making serious strategic decisions about our future,” says Pamela Hervey, president of the charity’s Board of Directors. “His understanding of the digital world as well as how a business grows will complement the skills already represented on the Board.”

Friends of Karen is a registered 501(c)(3) charity and the only organization in the New York Tri-State region that provides the emotional, financial and advocacy support that families caring for a child with a life-threatening illness so desperately need to cope during an unimaginably difficult time.

Founded in 1978 after helping one child, Karen, and her family, and headquartered in North Salem, NY with other offices in Port Jefferson and Manhattan, Friends of Karen has touched the lives of nearly 14,000 children. Charity Navigator, an independent organization that evaluates the financial responsibility and effectiveness of thousands of U.S. charities, gives Friends of Karen a 4-star rating, its highest award.
