NYC Pair Arrested For Taking Car Without Permission
The women are scheduled to appear in court in late January.
YORKTOWN, NY — Two New York City woman were accused Sunday of driving someone else's car without their permission. Yorktown police charged Rwanda L. Johnson-Chung, 28, of Brooklyn, with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and unlicensed operator and speed in zone, traffic infractions.
Burundi Johnson-Chung, 24, of Saint Albans, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.
Around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, the Real Time Crime Center issued a notification about a stolen vehicle traveling north on the Taconic State Parkway.

About 10 minutes later, a Yorktown police officer said he saw the car speeding on the parkway.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and found the women had taken the car without the owner's permission.

Also Rwanda L. Johnson-Chung did not have a driver's license, police said.
The women were arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.
They were processed on the charges and issued appearance tickets.
The women were released on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Jan. 28.
