Peekskill Man Accused Of Unlicensed, Unregistered Driving

Police said the man's privilege to drive had been suspended on four separate occasions.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Peekskill man was accused of speeding and driving with a suspended license.

The Yorktown Police Department said Fredy Fernando Chalco Urdiales, 33, of Peekskill, was charged Saturday with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and speed in zone, unregistered motor vehicle and unlicensed operator, traffic infractions.

Police said, around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, an officer on patrol on Route 202 in the area of Hawthorne Drive said he saw a car traveling east faster than the posted speed limit.

A traffic stop was conducted, and a routing driver’s license check found Urdiales’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle was suspended on four separate occasions.

It was later found that the registration on his car was also expired, police said.

Urdiales was issued four uniform traffic tickets at the scene and released on his own recognizance.

He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 22.
