Pleasantville Man Killed in Taconic Crash ID'd By Police

Police said they don't know why his car went off the road.

YORKTOWN, NY — Police have released details about a one-car collision that occurred Thursday on the Taconic State Parkway in Yorktown leaving one man dead.

New York State Police said Anthony Giorgio, 71, of Pleasantville, was traveling southbound on the parkway when his vehicle left the roadway and struck the guide rail on the eastern shoulder.

It is unknown why Giorgio’s car went off the roadway.

His vehicle came to rest in the center median.

Giorgio was pronounced dead at the scene by an Empress EMS paramedic.

The Yorktown Fire Department and Westchester County medical Examiner Sean McDonnell also responded to the scene.
