Putnam Man Accused Of Illegal Drug Possession

The initial report was about a man sleeping in a car.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Putnam County man was accused of having illegal drugs in Yorktown. Police said Phillip Twyman, 40, of Lake Peekskill, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Around 5 p.m May 10, police said they were dispatched to the area of Laurel Court for a report of a man sleeping in a vehicle.

When police got there, they said Twyman was sitting in a car with his eyes closed.

Police also said he was in possession of heroin.

Twyman was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was processed and released on his own recognizance.

He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court June 11 for arraignment.
