Registration for Relay for Life is OPEN!
Now is the perfect time to sign up & get a head start for Relay for Life of Yorktown 2017!
It's official! You can now sign up for the 2017 Relay for Life of Yorktown!
You can visit www.relayforlife.org/YorktownNY to start signing up your team! Remember- you're never too young or too old to join!
This year, there are 2 options:
- Sign up your own team!
- Visit www.relayforlife.org/YorktownNY, scroll down a little bit & click on "Join this Relay" button
- From there, follow the steps to sign up your team & yourself
- Ask family members, friends, co-workers & neighbors to join your team!
- If you're not sure about signing up your own team- join our Calling All Superheroes team. Here, you can sign up individually & focus on individual fundraising. It's a great way to get take a first step into Relay!

- From here, click join our team & follow the instructions!
We are also hosting an October challenge! Once you sign up, start sharing your fundraising page on social media or through emails. You can also raise money by downloading our fundraising app by searching American Cancer Society FUNdraising! Those who raise $75 from today through November 11, will get a super cool, Hope Lives Here t-shirt!
A great thing to know is why people Relay. So many people Relay in honor or in memory of loved ones- which is powerful & meaningful. The donations we raise from Relay not only provide funds for research, but they also fund local programs for cancer survivors & caregivers. Take a look at the 2015 stats to see how much of an impact we made as a nationwide Relay community! We are striving to do even better this year!
- $150 Million was devoted to potentially life saving cancer research grants
- 51,000 patients received treatment help. This help guided patients through the health care system by our patient navigators
- 1 million requests were answered at our 24/7 life line service
- 316,000 free rides were provided for patients to and from their treatments
- 361,000 nights of free lodging at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge facilities were provided
