Road Work to Take Place in Town of Somers Saturday
The DOT will have to close a road, weather permitting.

SOMERS, NY — The state Department of Transportation will be performing maintenance work in the Town of Somers and will need to close a road.
From the DOT:
Motorists are advised that on Saturday, October 15, Route 35 between Route 118 and Route 100 in the town of Somers is expected to be closed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., while crews perform maintenance activities, weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to follow the signed detour, but expect delays.
Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
