Rockland Man Accused Of Stealing Purse From Macy's

Almost seven months after the incident, the man was arrested, police said.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Rockland resident was accused of stealing a purse from Macy's.

The Yorktown Police Department said Keith Mulligan, 47, of Pomona, was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Around 4:30 p.m. March 20, police went to Macy's for a report of shoplifting.

The investigation found that, on March 19, Mulligan took a handbag worth $358 from a display and left without paying.

After several attempts to contact him, an arrest warrant for the man was requested April 28.

On Monday, a Yorktown police officer went to Dick's Sporting Goods for an unrelated reason and found Mulligan.

The officer discovered there was an active arrest warrant from the Yorktown Justice Court and he was taken into custody.

After processing at the Yorktown Police Department, Mulligan was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Oct. 21.
