Looking to take your significant other out for a romantic evening? Local restaurants are taking reservations now.

Valentine's Day is less than a week away and local restaurants are offering special menus. Because Valentine's Day is one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants, it is a good idea to call and make reservations ahead of time.
Here are five local spots worth considering for your Feb. 14 night out.

673 Croton Heights Rd., Yorktown Heights
Peter Pratt's Inn is a famous colonial listed on the Yorktown Historic Registry and is located in the oldest section of Yorktown. Their Valentine's Day dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A la carte menu choices are beginning at $23.

Choices for starters include salad, potato and leek soup, oysters, spicy Hawaiian tuna love roll, foie gras brulee, house-made fettuccine, shrimp stuffed with Thai spiced crab; Choices for entrees include pan roasted chicken breast, seared breast of rohan duck, lobster risotto, wild red snapper, Hawaiian Bigeye tuna, grilled Angus NY strip, pasta Primavera, slow braised lamb shank.

Their traditional approach to the holiday includes having fireplaces in every room, a violinist and chocolate roses for the ladies. The restaurant's Valentine's Day dinner menu includes specials for two: Rock of Lamb, Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms, Sliced Filet Mignon, Shimp Monte Cristo; as well as individual Chateaubrian and Stuffed Lobster Tails. The a-la-carte items come with vegetables and salad.
Drink specials include wine and champagne bottles for $20 each. For dessert, you can enjoy chocolate covered strawberries.
In addition to the Valentine's Day menu, customers can also enjoy items off their regular dinner menu. There are more than 20 dinner selections you could choose from.

The Winery at St. George, which opened in 2007, is a vineyard located on East Main Street in Mohegan Lake. Their Valentine's Day menu is a 6-course wine pairing dinner: Organic Mixed Greens (Dijon Vinaigrette), Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Cream of Pumpkin Soup, Cheese Ravioli (Light Tomato Sauce), Rosemary Roasted Lamb Chops (White Truffle Potato Croquettes), Assorted Mini Pastry Platter.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and music and dancing will continue until Midnight.

At Thyme, for appetizers you can chose two from the following: Potato, Leek and Fennel Soup, Ceasar Salad, Winter Salad, Truffled Risotto Arancini, Fried Oyster Sliders, Thyme Honey Ricotta Crostini. For your entree, you can choose one of the following: Roasted Chicken Breast, Pork Wellington, Ricotta Gnudi, Apple Cider Poached Salmon, Roasted Cod, Surf and Turf (lobster tail and grilled petite Filet Mignon).
For dessert you can choose one of the following: doughnuts, cheesecake, poached pears, chocolate tiramisu, New York-style cheesecake with raspberry coulis or chocolate and strawberry gelato, with chocolate cake. here.
