School Worker Shoved, Endangered Disabled Student: Police

His actions were found to be likely injurious to the physical, mental, and moral welfare of the disabled student, according to cops.

YORKTOWN, NY — A disabled student suffered abuse at the hands of someone trusted with their care, according to police.

The Yorktown Police Department says that 28-year-old Sebastian Borba-Ferreira, of East Fishkill, was charged with felony first degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.

On November 1, around 5:45 p.m., Yorktown police responded to a report of a suspicious incident at the Shrub Oak International School.

Once on the scene, an officer's investigation found that Borba-Ferreira, a school employee, allegedly shoved and committed other endangering actions on a disabled student. His alleged behavior was found to be likely injurious to the physical, mental, and moral welfare of the disabled student.

On Thursday, at 4:05 p.m., after being contacted by Yorktown police, Borba-Ferreira surrendered himself at the Yorktown Police Department where he was arrested and processed. He was then arraigned by the Honorable Judge Cohen-Pierson at the Yorktown Justice Court.
