Somers Offers Multiple Way To Pay School Taxes

SOMERS, NY — The town of Somers said it wanted to remind homeowners that the first half of their 2021-22 school tax bill is due by Thursday, Sept. 30.

The tax office's hours are from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If anyone wants to pay in person or are paying with cash, they can come to town hall — 335 Route 202 in Somers — to do so.

There is a dropbox outside the side door of town hall. The hours are also from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Just make sure to include your phone number and indicate if you would like a receipt mailed to you once the payment is processed.

The town accepts automated clearing house and credit card payments through its website. Follow the instruction at the link.

Many banks also offer online bill payment. You can have the bank mail a check for your taxes. The check should be made out to Michele McKearney, receiver of taxes. Include your bill numbers and address in the memo portion of the check and have it mailed in time to be received by Sept. 30.

If mailing your tax payment, you need to be certain the payment is postmarked by Sept. 30. If paying on the last day, have the post office hand stamp your envelope. The address is Michele McKearney, Receiver of Taxes, Town of Somers, 335 Route 202,
