Police say the Carmel man broke into a Somers house and stole a car to make his getaway before cops caught up with him back in Carmel.

SOMERS, NY — State troopers said a Putnam County man's foray into Westchester County for mischief was cut short after a brief crime spree.
The New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested 48-year-old James M. Kennon, of Carmel, for felony second degree burglary, felony third degree grand larceny, and felony fourth degree grand larceny.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., on July 19, state troopers were called to Lovell Street in Somers for a report of a man breaking into the caller’s house and taking property. Prior to their arrival, the suspect fled the area but was soon reported by a second caller for stealing a vehicle nearby.
