Tammy Benkwitt Appointed Manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Somers Office

Tammy Benkwitt has been named branch office manager of the Coldwell Banker office in Somers.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Connecticut and Westchester County, N.Y., is pleased to announce that Fishkill resident Tammy Benkwitt has been appointed branch office manager of the company’s Somers office. Benkwitt will be responsible for the oversight of 27 real estate professionals serving homebuyers and sellers in Somers, Brewster, Carmel, East Fishkill and the surrounding communities in Northern Westchester County.

“Tammy is an accomplished real estate professional who is well respected by her peers for her professionalism and industry knowledge. Tammy’s extensive experience will be a tremendous asset to the Somers office, and I am certain that she will make many valuable contributions as a member of our management team,” said Cathleen Smith, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Connecticut and Westchester County, N.Y.

With 24 years of real estate experience, Benkwitt was most recently affiliated with the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Katonah where she served homebuyers and sellers for the last three years. Before becoming affiliated with Coldwell Banker, Benkwitt was affiliated with the Jefferson Valley and East Fishkill offices of Houlihan Lawrence.

Benkwitt is a New York State certified real estate instructor and teaches ethics, fair housing and licensing classes for the Dutchess County Association of Realtors®. She has also been instrumental in developing continuing education courses on agent safety, leasing and other topics. An active member of the Dutchess County Association of Realtors® (DCAR), Benkwitt serves on the association’s professional standards and education committees. She received the Realtor® Recognition Award from the DCAR in 2004 and 2006 for her dedication in assisting Realtor colleagues.

Prior to becoming a real estate professional, Benkwitt served as a reinsurance accounting manager at General Reinsurance in Stamford, Conn. Benkwitt attended Iona College in New Rochelle, where she studied marketing, business and writing, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, where she studied acting, theater and communication.
